What Is The Poe Project?
Following a success inaugural year, The Saltare Foundation
for the Arts' POE PROJECT II (1999) is ready to entertain hundreds of guests
at its second annual event of original and adapted art performances.
THE POE PROJECT II (1999) is a premier Long Island Halloween event which
celebrates an evening of artistry in dance, word, imagery and song as numerous
performances based on the prose and poetry of Edgar Allen Poe will be presented
to the public. This event is a suitable segue to the Halloween season, which
brings out the devilishly fun antics in many of us.
The event will highlight performing artists, musicians, dancers, LI celebrity disc
jockeys and feature a special performance by Blackmore’s Night, including famous
Long Island rock legend, Richie Blackmore and his Renaissance music Band.
The festivities culminate with the largest Long Island masquerade ball.
All proceeds help fund The Saltare Foundation for the Arts, a not-for-profit,
non-partisan organization dedicated to expanding the arts to all children.
POE PROJECT II (1999) also involves the creation of a two-volume disc set
consisting of dramatic readings and musical interpretations of Poe’s works.
The CD is available for $10.00
and will be available the night of the show at The Vanderbilt.
